Air Water Group company Air Water India Private Limited ("Air Water India") has completed the construction of the liquefied gas manufacturing plant within the Chennai Plant in the State of Tamil Nadu in southern India. The new plant will begin operating on August 6, 2025.

1. Business strategies in India
Our Group acquired part of the business of a major industrial gas company through Air Water India in 2019. With the basic strategy of acquisition of on-site gas supply project for steel manufacturers and expansion of liquefied gas manufacturing bases, the Group aims to expand our business by combing the strengths of our Group, its gas plant engineering and operation technologies with the added value it can provide in areas such as energy savings, decarbonization, and supply stability.
The Indian market will maintain its high growth, as the GDP of India will grow 6.4% in fiscal 2025 (IMF forecast as of July 2025). The industrial gas market is expanding sharply, and the Indian government has set the target of increasing annual crude steel production from around 150 million tons (current) to 500 million tons by 2034. Southern India, where the Group has constructed the new plant, is a large center for automobile-related industry that attracts many companies from overseas, including Japan. Many electric vehicle- and electronic component-related plants have also been built in the area in recent years, making it likely to be one of the fastest growing areas of India, economically.
Air Water India has supplied industrial gas mainly manufactured at the Ballari Plant (Karnataka State) to customers in southern India, including Chennai. To respond to the demand for gas, which is growing every year, the Group constructed the new liquefied gas manufacturing plant within its Chennai Plan. By strengthening the supply chain, the Group will capture the industrial gas demand for manufacturers and the demand for medical gas in Chennai and the surrounding area.
This is the first plant that our group has designed, manufactured, and constructed in India. By strengthening our technical capabilities related to plant construction and operations in India, the group aim to capture the rapidly growing demand in the Indian market and achieve sales revenue of 30 billion yen in fiscal 2027, which is approximately 1.5 times the current level.
Going forward, the Group will continue to contribute to economic development with a focus on the industrial gas business as a business partner that will grow alongside India's economic growth.

*By covering approximately 40% of its electricity consumption with solar power generation, expects to reduce its annual CO₂ emissions by approximately 20,000 tons (about 35%).
