The Industrial Business is a core business of AWI in which we support the lifeline of domestic industry by supplying industrial gasses to all kinds of production industries, such as steel, electronics, chemicals, automobiles, ship building, and glass. AWI is the nation’s sole total gas solutions company that supplies gasses, like oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, by optimal methods ranging from on-site production to gas cylinder supply, safely and rapidly, according to the client’s need. With our capacity to provide stable supply from regional locations, and our customer services, AWI enjoys a strong relationship of trust with users.
The Chemical Business is another core business area of AWI, in which we have been creating a number of unique businesses under the business concept of “developing proprietary technologies to make a global contribution.” The main pillars are the Coal Chemical Business that supplies basic chemical products and fine chemical products, and the Magnesia Business and the Salt Manufacturing Businesses that effectively utilize seawater resources. We are also engaged in the development of novel businesses like the Information&Electronics Materials Business and the Bellpearl Business, which target the next generation industries such as solar cells, capacitors, and LEDs.
AWI is a top supplier of medical gasses. We stably supply various medical gasses, including oxygen and nitrogen, to medical institutions all over the country, through our integrated infrastructure of production to supply services. We are also rolling out a variety of businesses centered around medical gasses, such as construction of hospital facilities, sale of medical equipment, and offer of medical services (SPD (supply processing and distribution) and contract sterilization), and thus have created a very strong relationship of trust with our customers through the strength of our ability to offer total solutions to hospitals.
AWI has been contributing to the lifestyles of people by supplying energy products optimally matched to suit consumer needs, chiefly through our the LP Gas and the Kerosene Business, which is well known by its brand name of “Hello Gas,” and has been rolled out mainly in Hokkaido. We are also developing wide-ranging businesses aimed at the creation of new-age energy lifestyles, which include piping of natural gas to the Chitose Industrial Complex, production and sale of LNG tank trucks and containers, and home delivery of our proprietary mineral water.
In the Logistics Business, we have proprietary know-how on management and operation of distribution. We are engaged in various types of commercial distribution services that include industrial gas transportation, source plasma and NAT sample transportation, and food product transportation, all of which utilize low temperature transportation technologies that only a manufacturer of industrial gasses can provide. In our Food Products Business, we manufacture and sell high-quality frozen foods, ham, delicatessen foods, etc. mainly under the “Syunsetsu” and the “Saveur” brands. In the ECOROCA Business, we produce and sell new wood-plastic materials prepared by regenerating and combining wood and plastics.
